Overview

Paxton & Whitfield came to us with a mature Magento 1 store and complex retail operations: four high-street shops, national ecommerce, an ERP (Eureka) driving stock and order workflows, and a need for fine-grained delivery and pickup rules. They needed bespoke commerce functionality that matched their business model and a platform roadmap that reduced platform risk and improved admin usability. As the platform strategy evolved we proposed and delivered a Shopware replatform to address stability and admin-experience concerns.

Execution

  • Implemented full Eureka ERP integration.
  • Built checkout and fulfilment features: pickup-in-store (map/list + pickup scheduling), delivery date/time selection with cut-offs and exemptions, delivery comments, and pickup time slots.
  • Delivered product and merchandising features to match Paxton’s needs: hamper products, gift vouchers, PDF factsheets, detailed product attributes and “cheese facts” sidebars.
  • Integrated third-party services: MailChimp two-way sync, SagePay payments, UPS shipping, PCA address capture and bespoke newsletter signup in checkout.
  • As platform risk and admin-usability became strategic factors, we scoped and delivered a Shopware implementation that preserved the bespoke business logic and ERP integrations while improving the admin experience and providing a clearer support/upgrade path. Technical stack and deployment considerations were aligned to Paxton’s hosting.

We provided ongoing SLA with priority support, development, and optimisation.

Results

  • A robust commerce solution that preserved Paxton’s operational model (ERP sync, complex product types and fulfilment rules) while improving admin usability and platform stability.
  • Delivered the required bespoke features (pickup, delivery scheduling, hampers, factsheets) and integrations so Paxton could continue to operate online and in-store seamlessly.
  • Ongoing support provision put Paxton on a predictable maintenance and update path.
